VW 505 00 approval for engine oils

The specification VW 505 00 is suitable for Volkswagen brand cars with diesel engine, built-in diesel particle filter and fixed service interval (annual oil change). They are therefore not long-life oils. The standard VW 505 00 was replaced by VW 507 00. If your VW diesel requires the specification VW 505 00, you can therefore also fill in engine oil with VW 507 00 approval. If your diesel requires engine oil with other standards, you will find a note in the operating instructions of the car. Possible viscosity classes for VW 505 00 are SAE 0w30, SAE 5w30, SAE 10w30, SAE 0w40, SAE 5w40, SAE 10w40 and SAE 15w40. The VW standard 505 00 also applies to diesel vehicles of the subsidiaries Audi, Skoda and Seat.
