SAE 80W transmission oil from ADDINOL

SAE Class 80W transmission oils are produced on the basis of high-quality mineral oils. They are weakly additivated and therefore also compatible with older passenger car models such as vintage cars. The main areas of application for SAE 80W class transmission oil are manual transmissions and hypoid toothed axle drives for motor vehicles and commercial vehicles. They are also used in steering and transfer gearboxes of motor vehicles and machinery. With our Oilfinder you can check whether SAE 80W oil is suitable for your transmission.

SAE Class 80W transmission oils feature good wear and corrosion protection properties. The high scuffing load capacity optimally cushions the pressure in the gearbox. They ensure a long gearbox service life. Gear oils SAE 80W also have very good cold flow properties.

SAE 80W meaning

SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) 80W refers to the SAE class according to which the transmission oil was classified. These are monograde oils which are mainly used in cold outside temperatures. Transmission oils of the class SAE 80W have excellent cold flow properties and is thin enough down to -26 °C to lubricate all points in the gear quickly even during a cold start. In Central European winters you are optimally protected. The "W" is an example of the winter suitability of the oil. The smaller the number before the W is, the colder the temperatures the oil has grown. Classes range from 70W to 85W (-55°C to -12°C). The kinematic viscosity of SAE 80W class oils shall be at least 7,0 mm²/s at 100 °C.
