HVLPD 46 from ADDINOL

The HVLPD 46 oils are obtained from mineral oil raffinates. Thanks to the special additives, the hydraulic oils have a good viscosity-temperature behaviour, high wear protection and increased binding of dirt particles. Zinc is not contained in the additives. Typical areas of application are outdoor installations with high temperature fluctuations as well as increased dirt and water ingress.

The meaning HVLPD 46 is based on the letters HVLPD of the hydraulic fluid, which are defined in DIN 51524-3, and the number 46, which refers to the viscosity class of ISO VG.

HVLPD 46 features

The HVLPD 46 hydraulic oils are characterised by the following properties:

  • Excellent cleaning effect
  • Detergent properties
  • Improved corrosion and wear protection
  • Excellent ageing stability
  • Excellent viscosity-temperature behaviour

HVLPD 46 temperature range

The HVLPD 46 hydraulic oils have a pour point of -42 °C and a flash point of 230 °C. The typical operating temperatures range from -35 °C to 120 °C. This makes the lubricants suitable for a wide range of temperatures. Due to the high viscosity index of 175, the hydraulic oils function to the complete satisfaction even at occasional temperature peaks. They have a good cold start behaviour and the lubricating film remains stable even under heat.

HVLPD 46 viscosity

The viscosity of HVLPD 46 is based on the defined viscosity class of ISO VG (International Organization for Standardization Viscosity Grade). This describes that the kinematic viscosity of the hydraulic oil at 40 °C must be between 41.4 and 50.6 mm²/s. The centre point viscosity is therefore located at 46 mm²/s. Oil of the ISO VG class 46 has approximately the flow behaviour like olive oil at room temperature. It can therefore be regarded as comparatively thin. The ISO VG classes range from 2 (very thin) to 1500 (high viscous).
