CLP 220 gear oil

Gear oil with the code letters CLP is described according to the standard DIN 51502 and specified by the requirement standard DIN 51517. The gear oils of ADDINOL exceed the required limit values of the standards. CLP 220 gear oils are zinc-free and consist of mineral oils and selected additives. They lubricate reliably at operating temperatures up to 100 °C.

The gear oils are suitable for almost all types of closed industrial gear units with spur or bevel gearing. They can also be used for plain and roller bearings, joints and guides.

Our CLP 220 gear oils convince with the following properties:

  • Excellent scuffing load capacity
  • Good wear protection behaviour
  • Good corrosion protection
  • Foam suppression
  • Reliable water separation
  • Guarantees longer machine service life

CLP 220 viscosity

The number "220" in CLP 220 stands for the ISO VG class according to which the lubricant is classified. This ISO VG class also determines the viscosity of the gear oil. For ISO VG Class 220, the kinematic viscosity of the oil at 40 °C is between 198 and 242 mm²/s. The centre viscosity is therefore 220 mm²/s. CLP 220 is viscous, pressure-stable and thus up to the extreme requirements of industrial gear units. The lubricating film remains stable even under high loads. At room temperature, the oil is comparable to gel or shampoo.
