Which transmission oil of ADDINOL is the right one for my Mercedes?
You will always find the appropriate transmission oil specifications for your Mercedes-Benz in the Owner's Manual. If in doubt, a specialist workshop can also help you. To prevent transmission damage, only fill your vehicle with transmission fluid that has the necessary approval or at least meets the requirements.
It always depends on the year of manufacture and the type of transmission (manual or automatic), which transmission oil can be used for your Mercedes-Benz. Check what fits your Mercedes with our Oilfinder.
Change transmission oil at Mercedes-Benz
Although transmission oils are more resistant to ageing than engine oils, they should still be changed after eight years or approx. 80,000-100,000 kilometres at the latest. During this period, also ask your trusted workshop for a recommendation. A transmission oil change is a good idea, for example, during the annual check-up.
Of course, the transmission oil can also be changed manually, too. Changing the transmission oil manually can be very time-consuming, depending on the type of the transmission (manual or automatic). Experience and manual dexterity are required for the job. You can find the location of the transmission oil drain plug in your Mercedes owner's manual. You can then drain the used oil and flush the transmission. The fresh transmission oil should only be filled in the transmission when it has been cleaned of all residues.
