Which transmission oil from ADDINOL is the right one for my BMW model?

You will find the regulations for the suitable transmission oil in the operating manual of your BMW model. In case of doubt, the experts of a workshop can also help you. Only fill your car with transmission oil that has the necessary approval or at least meets the requirements.

Which transmission oil can be used for your BMW always depends on the year of manufacture and the type of transmission (manual or automatic). The compatible oils for BMW models such as E46, E90, E60, F10 or X3 may differ depending on the model. Use our Oilfinder to find out what fits your model.

Changing transmission oil at BMW

Although transmission oils are more resistant to ageing than engine oils, they should still be changed at the latest after eight years or approx. 100,000 kilometres. Failure to do so may result in costly gearbox damage.

The transmission oil can be changed manually or in the workshop. Depending on the type of transmission (manual or automatic), a manual change of the transmission oil can be very time-consuming. You will find the position of the drain plug of the transmission oil in the operating manual of your BMW. You can then drain the used oil and flush the gearbox of your BMW. Only when the gear unit has been cleaned of all residues, you should fill in the fresh transmission oil.
