VDL 150 from ADDINOL

Compressor oils marked VDL 150 are used for all types of air compressors. ADDINOL also offers a product that has been approved for the food industry and has H1 certification. The oils have excellent corrosion and ageing protection.

The designation VDL 150 consists on the one hand of the designation "VDL" for compressor oils according to DIN 51506 and on the other hand of the number "150", which refers to the standardised ISO VG class. DIN 51506 stipulates that the compressor oils can be used up to a compression temperature of 140 °C. With mobile units, the operating temperature even reaches up to 220 °C.

VDL 150 temperature range

The compressor oils of class VDL 150 can be used at peak temperatures of up to 220 °C. The lubricating film remains stable up to these temperatures. The mineral oils VDL 150 have a pour point of -19 °C and a flash point of 285 °C. VDL 150 S synthetic compressor oils have a higher viscosity index and remain stable over a wider temperature range. The pour point is -55 °C and the flash point 280 °C.

VDL 150 viscosity

The viscosity of VDL 150 refers to the defined viscosity class of ISO VG (International Organization for Standardization Viscosity Grade). This describes that the kinematic viscosity of the compressor oil at 40 °C must be between 135 and 165 mm²/s. The centre viscosity is exactly 150 mm²/s. Oil of the ISO VG class 150 has approximately the flow behaviour of a creamy edible oil. It is relatively thin liquid if the ISO VG scale from 2 (very thin) to 1500 (high viscous) is used as a basis.
