VDL 100 from ADDINOL
Industrial oils marked VDL 100 are compressor oils which are primarily intended for air compressors. ADDINOL also offers a product that has been approved for the food industry and has H1 certification.
The designation VDL 100 consists on the one hand of the designation "VDL" for compressor oils according to DIN 51506 and on the other hand of the number "100", which refers to the standardised ISO VG class. DIN 51506 stipulates that the compressor oils can be used up to a compression temperature of 140 °C. With mobile units, the operating temperature even reaches up to 220 °C.

VDL 100 properties
The VDL 100 compressor oils are characterised by the following properties:
- Heat resistant up to 220 °C
- EP and AW additives
- Reliable corrosion protection
- Good air and water separation
- Low tendency to coking and deposits
VDL 100 temperature range
The compressor oils of the VDL 100 class can be used at peak temperatures of up to 220 °C. The mineral oils VDL 100 have a pour point of -24 °C and a flash point of 268 °C. VDL 100 S synthetic compressor oils have a higher viscosity index and remain stable over a wider temperature range. The pour point is -55 °C and the flash point 270 °C. However, the operating temperatures of the product ranges between -35 °C and 120 °C.
VDL 100 viscosity
The viscosity of VDL 100 refers to the defined viscosity class of ISO VG (International Organization for Standardization Viscosity Grade). This describes that the kinematic viscosity of the compressor oil at 40 °C must be between 90 and 110 mm²/s. The centre viscosity is exactly 100 mm²/s. Oil of ISO VG class 100 has approximately the flow behaviour of an edible oil at room temperature. It is relatively thin if the ISO VG scale from 2 (very thin) to 1500 (high viscous) is used as a basis.
