Obituary on Dr. Hans O. A. Koehn

ADDINOL Lube Oil GmbH mourns the loss of its long-time shareholder Dr. Hans O. A. Koehn. With his expert advice and his high identification with the company, he has significantly shaped the successful development of the company since its foundation in 1997. Innovative products, global positioning and the well-being of the employees have always been the focus of his actions.

When he joined ADDINOL, Dr. Koehn could already look back on a long and successful career. After his studies of chemistry Dr. Hans O. A.  Koehn was head of the technical department at Valvoline Oel GmbH, Hamburg, from 1956 to 1969. He then took a stake in the Weiß & Co mineral oil refinery and steered it along the road to success. After its sale, he was responsible for the strategic development of the Dollbergen refinery from 1985 to 1995. In addition to his professional commitment, Dr. Koehn worked for several years as a commercial judge at the District Court of Hamburg.

In 1994 he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of the ADDINOL refinery. Since 1997, Dr. Koehn has been a shareholder of ADDINOL Lube Oil GmbH, Leuna, and played a decisive role in the development of the expert for high-performance lubricants. He not only accompanied the relocation of the company to the traditional chemical site Leuna, but also supported the employees of ADDINOL with words and deeds.

Without his courageous commitment and his convinced actions even in economically difficult times, ADDINOL would definitely not exist in its present form.

” Personally, I just enjoy implementing things that I have found right and seeing how they work out. The decision to join ADDINOL has proven to be absolutely right,” said Dr. Koehn on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of ADDINOL.
