Hydrodynamic transmission oil ADDINOL SGL 18 S sets new standards

Hydrodynamic transmissions are used wherever large forces have to be transmitted efficiently and reliably and high shear forces occur. The applications range from rail vehicles to turbo couplings and hydraulically controlled valve technology, especially under critical operating conditions.

The mineral oil-based ADDINOL Hydrodynamic Transmission Oil SGL 18 has proven itself for many years as operating fluid in locomotives and stationary plants and has been approved by Deutsche Bahn AG, Voith Turbo, Hydac Cooling and Lingl. In order to cover a wider temperature range and to achieve optimum results at low temperatures as well as at temperature peaks, we have extended our product range by the synthetic ADDINOL Hydrodynamic Transmission oil SGL 18 S.

ADDINOL Hydrodynamic Transmission Oil SGL 18 S is based on high-quality synthetic base oils with a naturally high viscosity index and lubricates reliably in the temperature range between -40 and +120 °C, short-term temperature peaks up to +145 °C are possible. The fluid is characterised by high scuffing load capacity, reliable wear protection and best micro-pitting resistance. This supports optimum protection of the components and their long service life. ADDINOL Hydrodynamic Transmission Oil SGL 18 S shows high oxidation, temperature and ageing stability in use and achieves extended operating intervals. Steel and non-ferrous metals are reliably protected against corrosion even at high temperatures. Thanks to above-average interfacial properties, entrained air is safely separated. In the tightened LAV test of Voith at 80 °C ADDINOL Hydrodynamic transmission oil SGL 18 S achieves a value of less than 1 % after 25 seconds, in comparable products this value is clearly above 2 %. The formation of foam remains at a minimum level.
