ADDINOL is part of the World Market Leader Index

There are presumably many world market leaders. This is why the University of St. Gallen, under the scientific direction of Prof. Dr. Christoph Müller from the HBM Entrepreneurs School, which is part of the Executive School of Management, Technology & Law of the University of St. Gallen, has created an objective and transparent selection process for actual world market leaders in the D-A-CH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). The selection criteria and the values determined are disclosed and the entire index is published (www.weltmarktfuehrerindex.de). In Germany, 450 companies are currently listed that are number one in their sector.

Since December 2018, ADDINOL Lube Oil GmbH from Leuna, Saxony-Anhalt, has also been listed by the University of St. Gallen as “World Market Leader Champion” in the index for Germany. In addition to the high export share, the world market leading position of ADDINOL high-performance lubricants in the areas of high-temperature chain oils and biogas engine oils was the decisive reason for this award. In both markets ADDINOL has achieved a leading position through high efforts in research and development and has become a solution provider for lubrication-related challenges. We are not only a lubricant supplier anymore, stresses Georg Wildegger, Managing Director of ADDINOL Lube Oil GmbH. Through close cooperation with customers, OEMs and research institutes, ADDINOL develops products which are tailored to the special requirements of our customers.

Already in 1999 the foundation stone was laid for one of ADDINOL’s current focal points. In close cooperation with the engine manufacturer MAN the targeted product development for the field of decentralized energy supply was started: Gas engine oils, adapted for operation with special gases. The outstanding success of the ADDINOL gas engine oil MG 40-Extra Plus continues to set standards in the market until today. For the latest development in the field of gas engine oils, a new additive technology is used in cooperation with one of the leading additive manufacturers, which is oriented to the changed operating conditions of present-day gas engines. Thus, higher pressures and temperatures resulting from new engine designs and materials used are ideal conditions for the latest gas engine oil in the natural gas sector, ADDINOL Eco Gas 4000 XD, to develop its full performance potential.

ADDINOL was also able to further expand its market position in the field of high-temperature chain oils. The market requirements have resulted in another high-temperature chain oil within the ADDINOL Cliptec series, which is the first product registered as NSF-H1 on the global market. Previously, manufacturers of plastic films, which were later used as food packaging, had to accept significant restrictions. This affected on the one hand the performance and speed of the production lines and on the other hand restrictions on the later use of the films for food packaging. The newly developed high-temperature chain oil ADDINOL Cliptec XHS 485 FG breaks the technological boundaries and achieves the previously impossible balancing act. With this market-oriented development, ADDINOL is the first lubricant manufacturer to offer a high-temperature chain oil with outstanding performance, NSF-H1 certification and the approval of the probably most important OEM in this field of application, the BRÜCKNER Group.

Christian Retschke, head of the research and development department, is convinced that ADDINOL will maintain its position as world market leader for biogas engine oils and high-temperature chain oils in the future. ADDINOL focusses on its strengths. With our experience and expertise of more than 80 years in the development of lubricants, we will advance the specialization of our lubricants and provide ADDINOL customers with lubricants which are tailored to extreme or special operating conditions of a particular application. Products that make the use of technical innovations possible in the first place. Such developments map the technical changes in aggregates and machines, also on the lubricant side, and enable trouble-free operation
