ADDINOL FoodProof BIO – When food-grade is not enough
One of the common misconceptions about food-grade products is that they are easily biodegradable in nature. However, food-grade certifications such as NSF H1 do not cover the biodegradability of products. The terms food-grade and biodegradable are not synonymous.

ADDINOL FoodProof BIO
In development, three basic requirements have to be joined: food safety, biodegradability and performance. The three combined pose an extra challenge for the Research and Development team: after all, the limited choice of raw materials must not lead to compromises in performance.

ADDINOL FoodProof BIO is the first product in the range that unites biodegradability and food-safety. It is based on saturated esters and provides the following properties:
✓ Excellent thermal-oxidative stability for extended oil change intervals
✓ Excellent corrosion and wear protection even in multi-metal-systems for smooth operation
✓ Very good air and water separation capacity
✓ Hydrolytic stability for impact of moisture and water
✓ Low foaming tendency
✓ Listed and approved according to NSF H1 (Reg. no. 170535) and OECD 301 B: > 60 % (in 28 days)
ADDINOL FOODPROOF BIO 46
Viscosity class:
ISO VG 46
Specifications / Approvals:
OECD 301 B > 60 % in 28 d, NSF H1
ADDINOL FoodProof BIO can be applied in hydraulic systems used in applications where both biodegradability and food-safety are required:
✓ Fisheries
✓ Harvesting
✓ Agriculture
ADDINOL FoodProof BIO 46 is part of whole product range for application in ecologically sensitive areas. ADDINOL NatureProof has been launched in July 2024 after extensive development work.
