SEW gearboxes and gear motors are used in virtually all manufacturing companies. In modern gear motors, high power must be transmitted within a very compact space. The resulting smaller oil volumes place particular demands on the lubricant. Gearboxes often have to operate cyclically – i.e. stop-and-go – and transmit maximum forces right from the moment they start up. This requires, on the one hand, a high loadcarrying capacity and good wear protection in the mixed-friction zone, and, on the other hand, efficient operation and good heat dissipation at high speeds. ADDINOL Eco Gear SX has been specifically developed for these operating conditions. The combination of synthetic base oils and high-performance additive technology helps to minimise friction losses, ensures efficient operation across the entire speed range and enables rapid oil stabilisation thanks to outstanding air separation properties and low foaming tendency. We have fond memories of our open day at the Leuna Chemical Park: numerous visitors, great conversations, the hum of engines and a raffle that sold out right down to the very last ticket. What was particularly lovely was that, through the raffle, we were able to do some good together. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our visitors, we raised a total of 750 euros. Our managing director, Georg Wildegger, was keen to top up the amount to 1,000 euros.

We have now had the pleasure of handing over the donation in person to TSV “SOS Tierhof” e. V. in Bad Dürrenberg. This volunteer-run animal sanctuary devotes itself wholeheartedly to caring for cats in need and strays, providing them with a safe haven. During our visit, we were able to see for ourselves just how much love and dedication the volunteers put into looking after the animals. We are therefore all the more delighted to be able to support this valuable work with our donation.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all the visitors who contributed to this fantastic result by buying a raffle ticket!

This test is one of the most demanding test procedures for hydraulic fluids and places high demands on performance. At its heart is the motor and pump test developed specifically by Bosch Rexroth (Rexroth Fluid Test Axial Piston Unit – Closed Loop = RFT-APU-CL), the requirements of which go far beyond the minimum requirements of DIN 51524-2. The test procedure and evaluation provide insight into whether the hydraulic fluid works reliably with the hydraulic components under very high mechanical and thermal loads, without causing excessive wear or critical changes to the fluid or the components.

Managing Director Georg Wildegger opened the event and gave an overview of the company’s history. The focus was on the company’s development from its beginnings in 1936 at the former site in Lützkendorf to its current production site in Leuna, as well as the key milestones in the company’s history.

Over the past 90 years, ADDINOL has navigated various political and economic conditions. On several occasions, the company faced fundamental changes. Through the company’s continued development and the expansion of its business, ADDINOL has been able to steadily strengthen its market position and grow in recent years.

Saxony-Anhalt’s State Secretary for Structural Change and Major Industrial Projects, Dr Jürgen Ude, and Dr Christof Günther, Managing Director of InfraLeuna GmbH, also paid tribute to the company’s development. In their speeches, they particularly emphasised the importance of ADDINOL, as a medium-sized enterprise, for the business location and the region.

Mr. Wildegger provides an overview of ADDINOL’s history during the ceremony marking the company’s 90th anniversary.

Regional commitment

As part of the anniversary celebrations, ADDINOL presented donations of 5,000 € each to four charitable organisations from the region. The recipients were the Naumburg Family Education Centre, the ‘Sachzeugen der chemischen Industrie e.V. (SCI)’ support association, the Caritas advice centre in Weißenfels and TSV Leuna 1919 e.V. With these donations, ADDINOL is continuing its regional commitment and supporting projects and organisations in the vicinity of its site.

Following the official ceremony, a meal provided an opportunity for staff, partners and guests to socialise. ADDINOL would like to thank all guests, staff and speakers for attending the anniversary event and for their long-standing collaboration.

The trend toward increasingly compact industrial gears with higher power densities presents new challenges for lubricants. Characteristics and product benefits

ADDINOL Proficity Dynamics Technology is designed to safely handle increasing power densities and ensures that lubrication remains consistently reliable even under the growing tribological demands of modern industrial gears.

The additive package is specifically tailored to modern high-power-density gears and minimizes friction losses. The resulting lower oil sump temperatures reduce thermal stress on both the gear and the lubricant, leading to extended oil service life. Furthermore, selected synthetic base oil components reduce friction losses in both the mixed-friction region and the elastohydrodynamic (EHD) lubrication range. The reduced friction helps to improve transmission efficiency and thus increases energy efficiency.

Hyper Race 0W-50 was developed and tested in close collaboration with leading racing teams and renowned motorsport professionals under real racing conditions.
